I am Mario Marcos a Spain based photographer, and I have spent most of my adult life trying to balance my creative pursuits with the need to earn a living. I was born in Madrid, Spain and later raised in Miami, Florida U.S.A.
Photography first caught my attention at a young age, while I was in middle school, due to a graphic arts class that offered photography as part of its curriculum. After finishing high school I went on to college and earned my university degree in the field of Fine Arts. Afterwards, I took on a wide range of jobs, from graphic designer to web designer, all the while pursuing my personal work on my own time.
I started out as a traditional dark room photographer, developing and printing my own work, but due to the many changes and advancements in the technological aspects of photography, I have since embraced the digital revolution and now produce all of my work from digitally mastered negatives.
My main interest is fine art photography in black and white as well as occasional experimentation with duo tones or sepia tones. I pride myself on originality. The main subjects I photograph are the people, places and things I have experienced in my travels over time. All appeal to me for different reasons, but in each photograph I always try to capture the essence of the subject matter. I like going out into the world and attempting to see it in a way that will convey emotional and aesthetic responses, especially in low light situations or night-time conditions.
Over the last few years, I have participated in several group exhibits and have also had some of my works published in several publications.
I currently work in the field of fine arts and I am also available for commissioned and assignment work. Contact me if you have a project in mind!
